The Pakistani community account for 7.4 percent of Barcelona’s foreign population, with over 19,000 residents recorded in 2015. Casa Asia is an organisation dedicated to promoting support for Barcelona’s Asian cultures, generating projects to enhance cultural exchanges. During the holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims are required to withhold from eating and drinking during sunlight hours, Casa Asia provides walking tours to observe how the Pakistani community live. The route begins at Drassanes metro station, and meanders through the Raval district to finish at the Liceu metro station, pausing at various venues along the way, including restaurants, food shops, mosques, Pakistani workers’ association and the local Pakistani newspaper. Tours also include a taster of Pakistani food and music, allowing you to fully experience the Pakistani lifestyle in Barcelona.
