Revela-T Festival is an analogue photography festival that celebrates traditional, chemically-processed photos, which are often replaced with digital technology today. We are living in the virtual era, where photos now reside more and more on our smartphones and tablets and seldom become printed as physical copies. Revela-T hopes to change this with exhibitions, talks, trade fairs, photo markets and more, spread over three weekends. The main events take place during the second weekend, which is when the eighth edition of PicSharing will take place.
PicSharing is an intercambio photo exchange that all festival-goers can take part in; the only requirement is that the photos brought along must be analogue (produced from a chemical process onto photographic film) rather than digital (printed from a digital camera). Each person will place their analogue photo onto a collective wall to create a mural, and will exchange stories with other participants about their photographs and more.
Other activities at the festival include the transformation of the Church of Vilassar de Dalt’s bell tower (in the castle of Vilassar) into a huge dark chamber for photo developing, as well as a nighttime fiesta with live music and food.
