Barcelona Vive México
Vive México has extended its annual week-long fiesta to this year bring over three weeks of festivities to Barcelona, and aims to celebrate Mexican tradition together with Catalan culture.
This year, the festival will celebrate 201 years of Mexican independence from Spanish rule, by bringing the vibrancy of Mexico to the streets of Barcelona. Fajitas will sizzle and piñatas will fall, while mariachi musicians serenade audiences at this lively festival produced by over 30 Mexican institutions and organisations.
The wealth of entertainment on offer includes exhibitions, concerts, conferences, cinema, theatre and more. Don't miss the official 'El Grito' ceremony at 8pm in the Plaça de l'Odissea on September 15th, but not before spending the afternoon browsing the Mexican fair at the Plaça de la Mercè, where colourful artisan products will be sure to catch your eye.
