Nobody could have guessed what Jocular Theatre’s new production was going to be. Director Joshua Zamrycki is known for his unpredictable choices and this show is certainly one of a kind. Barcelona’s premier English language theatre company will bring the award-winning play The Pillowman to the Antic Teatre for four performances.
The play, penned by Martin McDonagh, scriptwriter of such gems as In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths, is one of the blackest comedies you’re ever likely to encounter. Set in a totalitarian state, it tells the story of Katurian, a writer who is being questioned by the police on account of a series of murders that bear some disturbing similarities to his fictional tales.
With chilling performances and haunting music, The Pillowman will leave nothing to the imagination.
Performances are Thursday to Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 6pm.
