Rafael Nadal home
One of the most prestigious events of the clay court season has a lineup to make any tennis fan drool.
First played in 1953, the Torneo Conde de Godó (or just Godó to its friends) has become a key date in the Barcelona social calendar and is held at the oldest tennis club in Spain, the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona 1899. Some of the biggest names in history have graced the centre court including Bjorn Borg, Rod Laver and Ivan Lendl, and that tradition still exists today with Murray, Soderling, Berdych and of course Nadal confirming their attendance.
In recent years, the tournament has been dominated by Spanish winners in the form of Verdasco, Robredo, Moya, Ferrero and Nadal, who has taken the title an amazing five times. This year will see six players from the top 10 all trying to wrestle the title from tournament favourite Rafa, who could make it number six after missing out on last year's event through injury.
