Until November 30th, the Biblioteca de Catalunya will occupy part of the Rubió i Lluch Gardens, outside the Biblioteca de Catalunya, every Monday to Friday. This initiative offers open-air reading, book and magazine lending services and free access to a selection of daily newspapers and internet. Information about the history of the hospital, the current uses of the building and the characteristics of the trees and plants found in the gardens will also be available.
'Let’s read in the garden' is an initiative of the library, in collaboration with the Barcelona City Council. It is designed to promote cultural activities in the Rubió i Lluch Gardens, which are surrounded by the 15th-century buildings once occupied by the Hospital de Santa Creu, now home to the Biblioteca de Catalunya.
