6th Barcelona music festival
Barcelona's Festival of Song is building bridges. Construction began in April with a concert in Madrid's "Casa de America" which celebrated the famed Conxita Badía, the soprano who died 1975 having spent her active years singing songs from both her native Catalonia and South America. Having built the foundations, the organisers have persevered with their endeavour, inviting promising young musicians such as Colombian Fabián Roa or Grup21, as well as established performers such as soprano Patricia Caicedo to create a Festival of cooperation and exchange which promises to leave its mark on the cultural horizon.
Concerts take place at Auditorio de la Residencia de Investigadors in the Raval, Auditorio Instituto de Estudios Norteamericanos on Via Augusta and at Palau Moia near Liceu. See their webpage for more details.
