Barcelona’s most important festival celebrating national and international singer-songwriters returns for its 21st edition. BarnaSants takes part of its name from the neighbourhood of Sants, where it first started back in 1996. The event’s organiser and cultural activist Pere Camps believes in community and collectivism in the music industry. As a cultural activist he fights against the cutbacks and taxes that are placed on cultural commodities and aims to promote free access to culture and cultural exchange. Since its small beginnings, the festival has gone from strength to strength and now holds over 100 performances in venues across Barcelona. This year the festival will be featuring Metropolitan’s very own Tori Sparks.
