Bar Isabel Take-Over Feast at Caravelle
Australian ran cafe-restaurant Caravelle has become one of the Raval's main hotspots with its laid-back minimalist attitude and, for many foreign residents, it's become a home from home, as it provides the type of cafe-culture that can be quite difficult to find round here. For one night only they are welcoming Bar Isabel, all the way from Toronto, to create a banquet-style tasting menu.
This evening came about as Bar Isabel's head chef Grant van Gameren, (one of Canada’s most talked about young cooks), is leading a motley crew - including cured meat master Brandon Olsen, cocktail scientist Mike Webster, and Colin Tooke from Grand Electric (Toronto’s coolest taco spot) - on a gastronomic Fear & Loathing style tour of Spain. And Barcelona and Caravelle is their first stop.
Expect craft beers, fine wines, a few select cocktails shaken up by Mr Webster and Spanish flavours with a twist. To end the night, coffee will be poured by Spain’s Barista Champion and World Barista Finalist - Jordi Mestre.
The kitchen opens early from 20h and goes late into the night. There’s a maximum of 10 to a group. Price per head for the food is €28. Phone 933 17 98 92 to book.
