Lang Lang is an internationally renowned concert pianist who has performed with leading orchestras in Europe, the United States and his native China. On February 24th, he comes to L’Auditori for a single recital of works composed by JS Bach, Franz Schubert and Frédéric Chopin. Two days later, on February 26th, he presents a rendition of works composed by Mozart and Rachmaninov, as well as performing alongside Barcelona Symphony Orchestra for the first time.
At just 29 years old, Lang Lang has already established himself as a classical music star. Described by The New York Times as “the most innovative artist in the world of classical music”, Lang Lang has performed to President Obama at the White House, while his performance at the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony was watched by a global audience of 5 billion. The ‘Lang Lang effect’ is credited with inspiring China’s 40 million classical piano students and, in 2009, he was listed in Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People In The World.
