Images and music have traditionally been tightly linked. As evidenced by Yellowcard's 2006 album, light and sound have always been held in high respect by artists and yet, like a firework display, it sometimes seems difficult to reconcile the two worlds. One or the other always seems to be slightly off. However, through the medium of computer science, Japanese artists in particular are moving closer to what is an audiovisual medium, one which allows the artist to experiment with both facets of his work. In conjunction with the Grec Festival 2010, MACBA will host, on three nights, three Japanese artists: AVVA, Sawako, and Ryoichi Kurokawa, all of whom are sure to spectacularly light up MACBA's Thursday evenings with their unique mixture of interconnected music and images.
