The American School of Barcelona is hosting an informative weekend focused on the use of Google Apps and tools in education. The summit offers two days of sessions led by Google education experts, which examine the practical uses of apps and tools in developing student learning and transforming the learning environment. The sessions are categorised into beginner, intermediate and advanced, to cater for all levels of experience and to meet different learning goals. The summit also provides a host of dynamic activities, including innovative demonstrations, practical workshops and the popular ‘demo slam’ competition, where participants battle to win a prize through performing a two-minute demonstration of what they have learnt at the summit.
There is also the opportunity to attend a one-day training course on Friday 21st to become a certified ‘Google Educator’. The Level 1 Certification programme focuses on the practical application of tools in the classroom and for professional development, through the use of Hangout Chats, Collaborative Calendars, Slides and Drawing Collaboration and more. Participants on the course will then be required to take an exam in order to become certified, normally completed in the days following the programme.
