For the past 30 years, Yorkshireman Alan Charlton has been a leading name in the field of minimalist painting, consistently maintaining himself as one of the most contemporary artists out there. Rather than force us into a particular direction of thought, Charlton's work allows us to develop our ideas and feelings as a result of his art. Using the colour grey has his main tool, Grid Paintings is a study of geometric shapes.
