As part of the De Cajón! flamenco festival for this year, the Tablao Cordobés is running a series of nightly shows throughout February and March, giving fans of the genre, and those curious about the culture, a chance to enjoy a traditional exhibition of flamenco. Tablao comes from the Castilian word tablado meaning stage, and it's now gone into common usage to describe the venue for a flamenco performance, especially in the south of Spain. A variety of performers will be taking to the stage to mark the 40th anniversary of Tablao Cordobés (which is located in Barcelona's Rambla), many of them from Seville and including La Tana (who regularly accompanies Paco de Lucia), who makes her Tablao Cordobés debut with this event and will be on stage every night during the special anniversary run.
