LA VANGUARDIA (Castilian / Catalan)

The Catalan artist Antoni Tàpies has died aged 88 at his home in Barcelona; The labour reform to be developed by the Spanish government will include a special contract for young people; The films While You Were Sleeping and Eva were the big winners at last night's Catalan movie awards, the Gaudis.

EL PERIODICO (Castilian / Catalan)

A seven-year-old girl has died in a fire in a building in Cornellà - 12 people were also injured in the incident; Madonna is to play in Barcelona on June 20th as part of her next world tour - it will be her only Spanish concert; Teachers and parents took to the streets yesterday in protest at cuts to spending on infant education.

EL PUNT-AVUI (Catalan)

The council of the French Pyrenean village Font-Romeu has said that it wants to become Catalan once more (as it was up to 1659 when the Treaty of the Pyrenees was signed) - it says that the French government has forgotten about them; the Estació de França has reopened after the derailing of a train yesterday.
