According to an August 9 report by El Periódico, the 2011 edition of the Primavera Sound festival will feature programming chosen exclusively by fans' input on the festival website's forum. Following over 300 suggestions in June and July, the Vice stage will be programmed entirely based on their favourites.

Among the most highly touted were experimental neo-psychedelics Broadcast, post-punk project Blank Dogs, 2010 hit Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, and the favourite of all, veteran British indie rock group Comet Gain.

Along with handpicked artist programming, fans can expect another change in 2011: the festival will be returning to Poble Espanyol for the first time since 2004. The first and last day will take place at Poble Espanyol, and the three days in between at recent venue Parc del Fórum. Abel Suàrez explained that, because of the high capacity of the venues, fans can expect a stronger lineup than usual, though lacking traditional headliners.
