Organised by Casa Asia, the Superior Conservatory of the Liceu and the Japanese Consulate in Barcelona, on April 8th a special fundraising concert, 'Intenciones sonoras', will take place in aid of the victims of the recent earthquake and subsequent tsunami in Japan. Featuring both students of the Conservatori Superior del Liceu and Japanese musicians resident in Barcelona, including Takao Rokugawa, Keina Kono and Mariko Nambu, the programme will include classical music, jazz and popular Japanese songs, with works by Bach, Brahms, Saint Saens and various Japanese composers, amongst others.
This is the first event promoted by Força Japó!, a platform that will organise various events in the coming months with the aim of raising more funds for those in need in Japan.
The concert is free, but there will be a collection of donations at the end of the programme.
