Thanksgiving isn't the only significant day on the American calendar this week; Black Friday has become a consumer-based holiday of its own.
In the U.S., people wait outside the major stores as early as 2am on the day (morning) after Thanksgiving to raid the shops for Christmas gifts at incredibly discounted prices. Both exciting and terrifying, the day has become one filled with adrenaline for those who wish to brave the crowds and ruthless shoppers for the most competitive prices.
That tradition made its way over to Spain last year, thanks to the new Apple Store (the first one in Spain) that opened at Barcelona's La Maquinista shopping centre in 2010. This year, more stores at La Maquinista are getting in on the action, such as Forever 21 and FNAC, offering incredible discounts for either Christmas shopping or just some much-needed retail therapy this Friday.
The shops won't be open before the sun comes up, a blessing in disguise, but they will be offering free personal shopping services from the highest quality schools of fashion and visual merchandising. They will be offering their services from 11am- 2pm and 4-8pm
Check out La Maquinista's website or call 93 419 0630 for further information. La Maquinista is open from 10am till 10pm.
