Barcelona's newest cinema Zumzeig will open on October 4th in the neighbourhood Sants. In contrast to the more common recent news of cinema closures (the Renoir Les Corts and Casablanca Kaplan are two Barcelona examples), this is good news for movie fans across the city.
Zumzeig will show European films, independent US films, documentaries and video art, with the aim being to screen productions not shown in other local cinemas. The first programmed films are L'Encerclement (Canada), Dragonslayer (US), L'Âge Atomique (France), Los Ilusos (Spain) and Nostalgia de Luz (France/Germany/Chile).
The cinema, which also has a restaurant, is located in Béjar 53 (close to Plaça Espanya and the metro station of Tarragona). It will open to the public at 6pm on October 4th.
