Waiting for the curtain to rise
As happens each year for the Mercè festivities, the public theatres of Barcelona will be running a special promotion with discounts of up to 50 percent on tickets to see the shows currently running.
While many of these performances are given in Castilian or Catalan, it's a good opportunity to have a night out, practice your language skills and get into the Mercè spirit with other Barcelona residents.
Get your cheap tickets from the following places: Tiquet Rambles, the box office of the Palau de la Virreina (La Rambla, 99), which will be open from Saturday 17th to 24th, from 10am to 8pm non-stop. Or get them on-line from ServiCaixa or Telentrada.
The discounts will apply to the shows performed between September 19th and 25th, and participating theatres are: Alexandra, Almeria, L'Antic, Apolo, Aquarel·la, Arteria Paral·lel, Barcelona Teatre Musical, Beckett, Borràs, La Seca-Espai Brossa, Club Capital, Círcol Maldà, Coliseum, Condal, Gaudí, Goya, Guasch, Llantiol, El Molino, Muntaner, Poliorama, Raval, Regina, Romea, SAT!, Tantarantana, Teatreneu, Tívol, Versus, Victòria and Villarroel.
