After yesterday's early morning storm, the downpour seems to have given the city some respite from the intense heat that's been building up since the end of July. Temperatures remain below 30ºC, perfect for a walk around Barcelona or perhaps a more active day out.
While you're out and about, however, keep an eye out for posters that have been put up recently to combat street tricksters trying to con naïve tourist out of their euros. They're part of an awareness initiative to protect visitors and their possessions.
The Gandules film festival kicks off today with what promises to be an excellent line-up of national and international films in the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona outdoor venue. Nine films were chosen by a committee of film-buffs and a tenth, chosen by the public, was added in honour of the 10th anniversary of Gandules.
If an indoor movie setting is more to your taste, however, check out your nearest V.O.S (Versión Original Subtitulada) cinema or wait for Metropolitan's weekly roundup of film releases, coming soon!
