Sácame del Paraíso
The following films will be premiering this week in Barcelona cinemas:
Sácame del Paraíso (Wanderlust) - Stressed-out Manhattan couple, played by Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd, are having trouble picking themselves up after George (Rudd) loses his job. Chaos ensues as the couple is forced to reconsider their currently lifestyle, eventually deciding to move in with George's free-loving brother in a rural commune where a major culture-shock throws their lives upside down.
Moonrise Kingdom - Love blossoms between a 12-year-old boy and girl on a New England island in 1965. The quiet community, very much stuck in their ways, is thrown into disarray when the young couple makes a secret pact to run away together. Search parties are organised by key community members (with some played by Bruce Willis, Edward Norton and Tilda Swinton) to find them before a violent storm hits the island causing irrevocable change. This romantic drama also stars Bill Murray and Owen Wilson.
Acto de Valor (Act of Valour) - In true 'no man left behind' fashion, this epic war thriller sees a team of elite Navy SEALs risk life and limb on a top-secret, highly dangerous mission to save a kidnapped member of the CIA. What sacrifices will have to be made to save their comrade? From the writer of 300, real-life heroism and heart-racing Hollywood action combine in one of this year's most politically relevant films.
Hysteria - This British romantic-comedy, starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, Hugh Dancy and Rupert Everett, is the story of how the first electric vibrator was invented—in the name of medical science, of course! Set in the 19th century, Joseph Mortimer Granville is a young doctor trying to establish himself. In the midst of trying to finding cures for 'female hysteria' he stumbles across as idea which, let's face it, will change the lives of women forever.
Ríndete Mañana (Give Up Tomorrow) - Powerful, politically-charged documentary exposing corruption and injustice in the Philippine judicial system. Through the experience of 19-year-old Paco Larrañaga, who is accused of committing a brutal double murder, this award-winning documentary is a controversial look at how far criminal injustice has taken an innocent man, still sitting in jail cell several years since the alleged crime took place.
