The following films will be premiering this week in Barcelona cinemas:
Prometheus - Ridley Scott (the man behind cinematic masterpieces Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, and American Gangster) directs this fast-moving, action-packed gargantuan (it runs for over two hours) of a film. This one's for the sci-fi enthusiasts amongst you as it's set in the year 2093 and a team of explorers have accidently revealed a previously undiscovered secret concerning the origin of the human race. In true Hollywood style, the unveiling of this knowledge leads to a struggle for the survival of humanity. We suggest fastening your seat belts for this one!
Sin Rastro (Gone) - Amanda Seyfreid (best known for her roles in Mean Girls, Mamma Mia!, and Red Riding Hood) stars in this pyschological-thriller. Seyfreid plays Jill, a young woman whom, having been abducted a few years previously, becomes obsessed with bringing to justice the person responsible. Adding layers to the plot are mounting questions as to Jill's psychological well-being (forcing her to act independently of the police) and the abduction of her sister, Molly (played by Jennifer Carpenter).
La felicidad nunca viene sola (Un bonheur n'arrive jamais seul) - Controversial French director James Huth is the man behind this fun and easy-to-watch romantic-comedy. Gad Elmaleh and Sophie Marceau play an impulsive, free-spirited musician and an unattached mother/businesswoman respectively. The film documents the burgeoning relationship between this unlikely pairing.
