From New York pop stars to Gràcia’s rumberos, the Festival de Guitarra’s 20th edition brings to Barcelona many guitarists who have redefined their respective genres from classic rock to jazz, world music and indie pop.

While the festival embraces many of the traditional guitar masters like Gary Moore and Jackson Browne, it also offers an opportunity to see musicians who have taken mainstream guitar rock into unexplored territories. More pop-oriented, Wilco also experiment with the boundaries of rock, country and R&B. The Chicago group transcends the alternative country label to produce an American sound with bright choruses where the harmonies of fiddles and violins collide. With 35 concerts in 11 different spaces over the course of four months, every Barcelona resident should break out their air guitar and take part in this festival’s 20th birthday bash.
