Fish Tank - Andrea Arnold's follow up to Red Road features the inspiring performance by young talent Katie Jarvis, who plays Mia, a vulnerable but provocative teenager living in the estates of Essex. Michael Fassbender also stars in this gritty but vivid British drama.

Flor del Desierto - (Flower of the Desert) Tells the real-life story of supermodel Waris Dirie who escaped an arranged marriage and is a victim of female genital mutilation having undergone circumcision as a small child. The 38 year old Somalian model is now a UN campaigner against the practice.

Brothers - Irish film-maker Jim Sheridan's latest movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire and Natalie Portman and tells the story of two brothers, one just out of jail, the other off to war and the women who comes to love them both. Music is provided by long-time friend Bono from U2.

The Book of Eli -  Another post-apocalyptic action film this time with Hollywood old boys Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman and Michael Gambon.

Green Zone - Celebrated director Paul Greengrass teams up with his favourite star Matt Damon again after the huge success of the Bourne Identity series, this time the action war film centres around the Green Zone in Bagdad.
