One of the few universities in Spain to have a university campus geared towards everyday student life, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) was designed to provide students with an enriching university experience. The ever-expanding university has three campuses including its main campus in Cerdanyola del Vallès, which houses most of the departments and provides students with all the services they need for their day-to-day lives. UAB offers graduate and post-graduate degrees as well as extra-curricula activities that include social and cultural programmes and volunteer opportunities.

Established in 1450, the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) is one of Catalunya’s most important public universities due to its high academic standard and contributions to the community. Over the course of its history, the university has grown to include 20 faculties and university schools spread out over four campuses; it offers 75 graduate degrees, 90 doctorate programmes and has nearly 70,000 students.

The Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC) offers a highly-personalised education based on the values of Christian Humanism. There is a high teacher-to-student ratio and professors are committed to providing students with support throughout their studies. UIC places a strong emphasis on vocational training. Nearly all of the teachers have professional backgrounds and 40 percent of the classes are based on practical application. In addition, the UIC offers a variety of cultural, recreational and sporting activities.
4. Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya

Created in 1971, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya is a public institution specialising in the fields of architecture, science and engineering. Campuses are located in Barcelona, Manresa, Sant Cugat del Vallès, Castelldefels, Terassa and Vilanova i la Geltrú. The school welcomes international students, although an intermediate level of Catalan or Castilian is necessary.
5. Universitat Pompeu Fabra

The Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) was established by the Government of Catalunya in 1990 based on the principles of freedom, democracy and equality. Courses are available in all fields ranging from health and life sciences to human and social sciences and technical studies. The main campus is located near Parc de la Ciutadella.
