Metro workers have called for a new strike, causing reduced services from Saturday 18th June until Wednesday 22nd. Minimum services fall to 33% from Friday night at 12am, and are not expected to return to normal service until Wednesday night. Using alternative methods of transport is advised for this period to avoid delays.
The strike falls at the inopportune time of Sónar festival, where the city is expected to receive around 120,000 festival goers. In order to prevent overcrowding on station platforms, it is important to plan journeys in advance and remain attentive to the station's PA systems.
Metro services are expected to return to regular service in time for Sant Joan.
