The long-awaited new metro line (L9) opens on Friday 12th February. The inauguration coincides with a public holiday in Barcelona and L'Hospitalet, and travel will be free for two days (Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th)
The new section of L9 will connect the stations Zona Universitària with Barcelona-El Prat Airport (Terminal 1) in 32 minutes. It includes 20.1 kilometres of line and 15 metro stations: Zona Universitaria, Collblanc, Torrasssa, Can Tries-Gornal, Europa-Fira, Fira, Parc Logístic, Mercabarna, Les Moreres, El Prat Estació, Cèntric, Parc Nou, Mas Blau, Aeroport-T2 and Aeroport-T1.
Regular operation will commence on February 15th and the service will operate every seven minutes. The opening comes in time for this year's Mobile World Congress, which will take place on February 22nd-25th.
