Last week, fans turned up to Camp Nou in their thousands to pay tribute to FC Barcelona icon Johan Cruyff, who recently died of cancer aged 68. The stadium opened on Saturday March 26th to mourning fans, while members of the FC Barcelona team paid homage to the player on Tuesday March 29th by observing a minute’s silence before training.
The Dutch great is largely credited with reinvigorating the club and helping to launch its modern winning era. FC Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique, said: “Johan leaves us a fantastic legacy that will continue. We will always remember him.”
