More than 700 people will hit the city at midnight tonight to count how many homeless people are sleeping on its streets. The last study was done in 2013 and counted 870 people, a 54.8% increase on 2008. The number did not include the over 2000 people who sleep in shelters.
This year, the study will be carried out by the charity for homeless people, Fundació Arrels. The volunteers will go out in groups of five to eight people, each of which will walk through a different neighbourhood.
