According to Ernst & Young’s Attractiveness Survey, Barcelona has been ranked the 8th most attractive city for investment in Europe, with a big increase in projects won from overseas investors and jobs created.
‘In terms of jobs, the region of Catalunya, centered in Barcelona, was an easy winner, pulling in a slew of big projects that will employ a total of 7,089 workers.’
According to a recent study by IESE Business School, FDI created more than 20,000 jobs in Barcelona in the period 2011-October 2013. That’s an achievement surpassed in Europe by only two other cities: London and Dublin. Madrid occupies the 10th position.
